Q - Is a motorhome difficult to drive?

A -  It is the same as driving a large moving van.  You must be mindful of the length and especially the height during driving.

Q - Do I need a special drivers license to drive a motorhome?

A - No special license is required.

Q - Do I need additional insurance?

A - No, but it is highly encouraged.  You can get a rider through your own insurance carrier.  We will also provide you with information to obtain additional coverage through MBA Insurance.  You can purchase this additional coverage for $11.95 per day.  This will provide you with $1,000,000 liability coverage and a $500 deductable.  You can purchase this at www.MBASLI.com

Q - How much gas does a motorhome use?

A - Class C motorhomes average 7 - 13 miles to the gallon and have a 55 or 80  gallon tanks, depending on the model.  You get approximately 500 miles between fillups.  Avoid high speeds.  Depending on how much driving you do, fuel costs can be one of the most significant costs in your RV rental budget.  Driving at 62 mph will reduce your fuel consumption by 15% when compared to driving at 75 mph.  Driving slower is safer and costs less.

Q - How many passengers can travel in a motorhome?

A - A driver and passenger up front, plus one passenger per seatbelt in the rear of the vehicle.  Usually a total of 6 - 9 people can be accomodated.

Q - What are pickup and dropoff times?

A - Simular to the hotel industry, pickups in the afternoon and dropoffs in the morning.  Usual drop-off time 9am - noon and pickup between 1pm - 5pm.

Q - Do you offer one way rentals?

A - No, we are a local company and pickup and dropoffs are at the same location.

Q - Can you pick us up at the airport?

A - Pickups and dropoffs can be arranged in most circumstances.  A fee will be required depending on waiting time and number of passengers.  Just ask when making reservations.  There are also services offered directly at the airport and may be your best option for transportation.

Q - Are motorhomes self contained?

A - Yes, motorhomes are designed to be self contained. However, generator use is an additional charge and the water supply is limited. Black and grey wastewater tanks also need to be emptied at regular intervals during use.

Q - What if I return the vehicle before the due date?

A - No refunds will be given for early returns or late pick-ups.

Q - What if I am late returning a vehicle?

A -  You will need to notify us if you are running late as it will effect another customer's pickup time.  A late fee will be charged.

Q - Is it safe to drink the water from a motorhome?

A - We do not recommend driking the water.  It may have been refilled from several locations and we cannot know it is safe for drinking.   However it should be fine for washing and showering. We recommend bottled water for all drinking and cooking.

Q - Besides the rental costs are there any other charges?

A -  There is tax on the rental unit, a generator charge for excessive use and a excess mileage charge for above the daily or weekly limits.  If the vehicle is not cleaned, there is a cleaning fee.  Any excessive damage will be reviewed by our insurance carrier and our attorney.

Q - Are there places we cannot drive the motorhome?

A - Yes, there is no driving into Mexico. You will have to prearrange trips into Canada.  You are not allowed to drive in the desert areas during the hot months. There is no driving off-road or on logging trails.

Q - What if I am involved in an accident?

A - You and your family's safety is our main concern. Call 911 immediately if first aid is required. You must notify the police ASAP to fill out a report (we will need a copy of the report). You must also notify us ASAP.  A packet of paperwork must also be filled out by you, the driver.  Take as many pictures as possible.

Q - What if the motorhome breaks down?

A -  We maintain our vehicles as best we can, it is inevitable that breakdowns do occur.  We will provide a 24 hour roadside assistance with a nationwide service agreement plan.  Any repairs must be authorized by a manager/owner.  We also offer a VacationSaver Policy (see Policies and Procedures), this outlines Your Rights and Responsibilities and Our Obligations in case of a breakdown.

Q -  What if I have to cancel my reservation?

A -  Your $250 deposit is not refundable.

Q - Can we store stuff on the roof?

A - Absolutely not. No One or Nothing on the roof.

Q - Where will you be located?

A -  East  Amherst, NY -  Millersport and Transit area.  Exact address for pickups and dropoffs will be given after a reservation or appointment is made.
